For a long time, there was peace in the land of Ithalania, between the Yendorian and Camarian empires. But a minor dispute over a border fort has led to a full-scale war. You are citizens of the Camarian empire who have been drafted to attack the Yendorian border. It is a fairly standard fantasy setting, with magic (but not enough to mass profuce magic goods), and the standard fantasy races (only humans are playable, sorry) I'll draw up a map if I have time. To join, just fill out this profile Name: Age: Skills:(Don't be excessive) Short bio: The RP will start once 2 people have joined. Ask me if you have questions about the setting Edited by Burningsack, Jun 21 2008, 04:01 PM.

Name: Nemo Multavox Age: 26 Skills: Magic, information brokering, thievery, social engineering, swordplay, ventriloquism Short bio: Growing up poor, Nemo resorted to trickery and thievery to survive. He learned to manipulate people and their emotions to do his bidding. After a few close escapades with the law, Nemo was caught and put in jail. In exchange for his freedom, Nemo agreed to join the King's intelligence networks. Nemo quickly advanced through the ranks becoming an elite assassin and spy for the royal intelligence networks. Nemo has no known family or relatives. Nemo's use of ventriloquism and clever disguises has led him to become Multavox or Many Voices (sorry if my Latin is off, I do not study Latin). Nemo discovered his talent for magic at an extremely young age and learned to use it in a variety of ways. He can uses it pick locks, knock over objects, and befuddle or send men to sleep among other things. Nemo has dark skin and black hair. His eyes are catlike and shine yellow in the night. His features are normally hidden by a black cloak he wears to conceal himself and his identity. Using his cloak, he can blend in with the local populace quite easily and gather information without arousing suspicion. His distinctive yellow eyes are hypnotic and looking at them will distract and confuse men. Is this acceptable? Edited by techwizrd, Jun 21 2008, 04:24 PM.

Name: Leritan thesin Puloshartheni (Lay-ree-tan thay-seen poo-low-shar-thane-ee) (Leritan son of Pulosharthen) Age: 18 Skills: he knows how to use a sword, even if it isn't his best talent. He knows a bit of magic, but that isn't his specialty either. He has mixed skills of the two. Short bio: Leritan was born to Pulosharten (thesin Joruton) and was a twin. His brother was named after his grandfather, Joruto. Joruto was the elder and followed his father's trade into politics. Leritan was apprenticed to his aunt's husband Soran. There he learned some basic swordsmanship so that he could later work as a swordsman for hire. His aunt, Pilamar, taught him magic at nights, but only what little she could. He has a light, smooth, walnut-like skin and a closely shaved head, black stubble is apparent on his head. His eyes are the palest grey. His hometown is anlocothenin Edited by Cade Shadow, Jun 21 2008, 04:40 PM.

Both Profiles are accepted Your unit marches forward, you in the very last line. They advance toward the enemy stronghold. They have shields raised against arrows, with the cavalry softening the for up and the archers bombarding. All seems to be going well, when you see a sudden whirlwind moving toward the unit. The men panic and flee, but are caught up in it. Suddenly the whirlwind ignites, causing a huge firestorm and immolating the soldiers. You have managed to survive, being hardier than most and at the edge. You hide from the soldiers cleaning up after the new superweapon strike, pretending to be dead until they leave after having killed or captured the survivors. You players are now alone. What do you do? Do you attempt to return to your base, continue your mission, lay low and infiltrate, or something else? (BTW, I forgot to ask about what you brought along. You all have basic equipment issued by the army in addition to what you brought) |

(what exactly was our mission) "What in the names of the Dhalvetalo was that?" Leritan stood himself up, "Friend, we need to head back to base to warn them about that new weapon of theirs. THis could completely change the face of the war and never have I seen magic like that." |

Nemo: I reckon we must continue, if not for our sakes, but for the sake of our comrades. They shall not have died in vain for we shall infiltrate. Perhaps if we pretend to be men of the enemy we can find more about this vortex of wind and fire. Perhaps, next time we may be able to warn our comrades and save them in the process... |

It's been so long! Name: Merrakh Lisoto Age: 16 Skills: Seeming, Pretending, Hiding Biography: Merrakh always had a talent for faking. From the time he was a baby, he could imitate the voices of others with eerie precision. By the time he was five years old, he could lie more convincingly than he could tell the truth. At six, he could run and hide so well that his parents could scarcely find him. And, by that point, his parents no longer wanted to find him. They had tired of him to such a degree that, when they sent him to a boarding school for his first year of school, their thoughts were not 'Oh, our poor baby!' but 'Great. Now, let's see if we can have him stay through vacation.' They did not stick to their edict of not bringing him back home - the summer of that year, they brought him home and were so horrified that they never did it again. Though his talents were not appreciated at home, they were lauded at his boarding school. He could mimic and mock any teacher, and pull off all manner of tricks without getting caught. But the full import of his talents was saved for later. For, during his years there, he had realized that he could change his shape and appearance, almost at will. And he used this new skill to great degree - he could impersonate anyone in the school. He used his skills to torment people. He could go anywhere, and see anything. If he impersonates a teacher, he can force people to do things. And he did this for years. But people began to get suspicious of him, and Merrakh began to fear. So he crept out of school, disguised, and enlisted in the army. He was hundreds of miles away in no time flat. Now, in the army, he's in a new and unfamiliar place. He doesn't know the men, and he doesn't know what he can do and get away with. So he's keeping his guard up. But it's only been a few days, so... --- "Going back won't help us. The best our military can do is to summon so many men that the cyclone thing can't kill them all. But this is, of course, very chancy. Hence, we should try to find out about it or capture it rather than return to our base. Keep in mind that if we can reach the enemy's ranks, we're pretty much safe against cyclone strikes. Would they rip apart their own troops?" |

"Heading forward means that we're the only ones who know about it. If we head back, we can warn them all, spare the lives of our fellow soldiers. And civilians. And surely Camarian spies can better do it that us. |

"So we have to go back, convince our superiors, wait as spies are summoned, hope they can get the job done... Don't you see any problems with that approach? It'd be far too late before the spies even get here. If we try, we might fail - but if we don't try, we will fail." "Besides, it's not like this cyclone thing is exactly hard to spot. If we don't make it, they'll find out about it soon enough." [[ OOC: AIM? ]] Edited by BobTheFerret, Jun 22 2008, 09:55 AM.

Fine, then the matter is decided. We head out towards the source of the destruction. We must infiltrate them and investigate this deadly weapon. We shall head out at midnight. Now we must plot a path that will allow us to reach them undiscovered. |

"Heck no. We're going to wait all day to catch them when they're on guard? Do you think they honestly haven't thought about people sneaking into camp in the middle of the night? That has to be the worst plan I've bloody ever heard. They're at their least guarded now - they think that they've just destroyed us. There is no better time to infiltrate than now. We can't wait, guys - we have to do this now." |

"Right. So it's better to go for it in the late night, when most any sensible guard would expect a theft anyways, than right now, when the guards are all partying and think us to be dead." "Perhaps it might be a bit easier to bluff our way through at night. But right now, I don't think we have to." |
