Mechas Robo Character

Well, in the middle of the night a few days ago, I woke up with an inspiration. I quickly booted up my Linux box and opened Blender. After about 1.5 hrs, I went back to bed. I was debating with myself about whether I should post about it or not and eventually I decided to post it.

It is a low-poly Blender model for a game by the name of Mechas Robo. I don't which character it will be though... I am currently having trouble with how to make the hands, the head, and a suitable texture.

This is the second time I have ever attempted a humanoid. Considering the first time produced this I think I am doing pretty well.

BTW: The last screenshot is the only one with the correct figures for the faces, edges, and etc. The other ones are screwed up because of the Subsurf.

Very nice work. It is not, however, the final copy in any way. I would like to think of it more as a draft. First of all, he has no hands!!! He also has no head. I have noticed you used subsurf. We cannot use subsurf in the actual game, so I believe you have cheated. The final copy would also need a bit more detail overall. Also, he is going to need some awsome armor that look like titanium or the sort. Still, I think you did a good job.

We need a good-looking low-poly model of a guy and of a girl. These models need to be detailed, but not too detailed. We need to be able to just change the textures and have a new character with a uniform rig.

I can't get much work done this week, but I'll be free on Friday to start developing hard core. Hopefully I can have a model done by next Monday (not promising anything though).

I have seen no new models from anyone in months. I am beginning to wonder if anyone is doing anything. And don't argue that i'm not doing anything, because I havn't really. It is just the fact that virtually no progress has been made in the span of several months, that has intrigued me.

Actually, I am currently working alone as I have no other developers still actively contributing. Perhaps I should set up a git or svn repository so you all can see my work? Ah well. Progress is made when progress is made.
