G'day peoples!

a month and a few days later, I have two new *real* attributes games. (and a dud, which i made in a state of uncreative boredom ^o) )

new stuff:

  • Perception
  • Detection
  • ...and the dud (unofficially named "Boredom")
posting source soon... These things are uncommonly large for Attributes...

anyhow, this will probably be the last of Attributes for a while (cringes at all the celebrating people). A few better and more interesting things are coming down the pipes eventually.

that is a real spoier for a real thing that you may not want to know of (that is, if you own or will own yet haven't beaten Valve's game Portal). it's not like, to make you lose... uh... I'll stop now.

the useful subroutine:

converts a keycode for θ (y'know, a theta) from the key number to 0-9 and returns it again as θ. I used this in the two good ones, and probably will use it again if i ever make more of this series. Kyros the Hedgehog is open to tips on optimization.

notes on notation-
!= not equal
=> greater than/equal
<= less than/equal
-> store variable
_ is a not-overly-obvious blank space
{L1} represents a list variable

while you're here, I'll give you "boredom." my best score so far was 25558. it's really not involved or interesting.

Perception

I'm still open to better names and optimization tips on this. anyhow, same notation notes.

how to play
Kyros sez this

it generates a random number on the screen somewhere for a short time. then, you push the key corresponding to that number and move on. or lose. my best was 375.

Detection

finally, Detection, probably my best and favorite work since Persistence. still open to optimization and better names, yadda yadda. same notation notes. be sure you have program KNC, posted above. be warned that this is the biggest Attributes game so far...

how to play
note to self: REALLY don't push X instead of Z
the computer follows 5 rules:
1. the number is between 1 and 9
2. you get 4 clues of your choice
3. the clues are either answered with "<", "<=", "=>", or ">"
4. a (pseudo)random three of these are true (if it's less than, one of the first two, equal to, one of the second or third, greater than, last two.)
5. one of them is randomly answered (a "lie"), and has a 50% chance of being not true.

so, really, you press a button 1-9 to get a clue. it will tell you what it is, or "lie" about it. then you guess the number and either win or lose. I likes this game.
